This figure of Pantaloon, a miserly character rejected by love in commedia dell’arte theatre, was created for Johann Adolf II, Duke of Saxe-Weissenfels. At Meissen, J. J. Kändler and later P. Reinicke modelled a series of figures for the duke. Pantaloon is the first mentioned figure for this collection modelled by Reinicke.
